Zindagi Kitni Haseen Hay (ZKHH) revolves around the story of a young couple Zain (Feroze Khan) and Mahira (Sajal Ali) who have raised a kid and seem to be struggling with the challenges of life since they married at a very young age. Both of them have their own dreams to follow and appear to be quite passionate about what they wish to achieve in life. Zain, wants to become a filmmaker.However, as their dreams affect their relationship, the two part ways at some point and so goes the story.

The film's theatrical trailer was released on 1st July 2016 on Fahad Mustafa's Jeeto Pakistan show. The trailer was appreciated by critics and film is expected to be a successful endeavor to promote Pashto culture.[17] The trailer is expected to be played on all Arjit Singh's concerts in UK after its release.[18]

The film is directed and produced by Nabeel Qureshi and Fizza Ali Meerza and is their second project after Na Maloom Afraad. The details about the film were unveiled by Nabeel Qureshi and Fizza Ali Meerza at a press conference in Karachi on 9 January 2016. The press conference was also attended by Fahad Mustafa, Mehwish Hayat, Alyy Khan and Om Puri.[3][4] The producer Fizza revealed that the film stars Fahad Mustafa and Mehwish Hayat. Indian actor Om Puri will make his Lollywood debut in the film.[5]The cast also includes Talat Hussain, Alyy Khan, Rehan Sheikh, Saife Hassan and Rashid Khawaja.[6] Indian actor Om Puri told that he signed the film because the script is different and unique. He also told the title Actor In Law is suggested by him
. "I didn’t know this team personally when I was approached for the film. But I was aware of the fact that Pakistani films have improved a lot." said Om Puri.[7] The director Nabeel Qureshi said that this film is a different story just like Na Maloom Afraad. "Rather than telling jokes, I enjoy telling stories. And audiences can expect the same with Actor In Law as well since it has a very unique story," said Qureshi.[8] The film is cinematographed by Rana Kamran. It will be distributed locally and internationally by Urdu 1. It will be the first film distribution by Urdu 1. The film is scheduled for release on Eid al-Adha in mid 2016.[9]
