QMOBILE HUM STYLE AWARDS 2016

Karachi, October 29th, 2016: The first QMobile HUM Style Awards took place on Friday, October 28th2016, orchestrated by Pakistan’s premier entertainment network, HUM Network Limited,in partnership with QMobile, Pakistan’s biggest Smartphone company endorsed by local and international stars. The ceremony had notable artists, and glamorous celebrities from Pakistan’s fashion, music, sports, drama and film industry receiving awards for presenting style at its best.

The HUM Network has always sought to raise the bar with its projects and now, with the first QMobile HUM Style Awards, it has to set standards in impartiality and quality entertainment. According to President HUM Network, Sultana Siddiqui, “We are proud to be a pioneer in the field of entertainment. In our projects, it is always our aim to seek out new talent and provide a platform for it. With these awards, we celebrated the fashion and entertainment industry’s leading style influencers and trendsetters. It is our aim that this event will prove to be a stepping stone towards building and developing this industry further and encouraging more talent to enter the field.”

In an effort to maintain complete transparency, the HUM Network has revealed the names of the jurors whose votes, along with poll results, have been collated to decide upon the awards’ winners. The jurors for the first QMobile Hum Style Awards are:

Speaking on their association with Hum style awards the Chairman and CEO of QMobile Mr. Zeeshan Akhtar said,

21 highly-anticipated awards were given out based on the voting process. In addition, President HUM Network, Sultana Siddiqui of Him network limited honored two icons of the industry at the QMobile HUM Style Awards. The awards were given to:

1. Bunto Kazmi for Excellence in the field of Designing

2. Nabila Maqsood for Excellence in the field of Styling

The President HUM Network stated, “I initiated this award and want to make it a regular feature in HUM Style Awards to appreciate people who have done well in the fashion industry. Bunto Kazmi is an icon who has created a niche for herself as a top designer, remaining consistently popular in the fashion world. She is a pioneer in bridal couture and her opulent clothes are sought after even today.

Nabila is also an icon, having worked her way to the top as a hair and makeup stylist through sheer hard work, setting an example for the newcomers in her field. She can be credited for having pioneered style in Pakistan with her trendsetting vision and knack for business. Her career spans more than three decades and is distinguished by countless awards and benchmarks. While consistently innovating and expanding her business both locally and internationally, Nabila also believes in mentoring new talent. Seeking out potential in those around her, she has groomed a wide range of individuals, varying from actors, directors, models and stylists, helping them embark on careers of their own. Her recent partnership with Hunar Foundation, similarly, emphasizes on providing vocational training to individuals and building a more skilled Pakistan. Following the same spirit, Nabila feels that she should no longer be considered a contender for awards in hair and makeup. She hopes, instead, that a platform like the QMobile Hum Style Awards can support her in identifying and encouraging promising newcomers in her field.

Along with giving out awards, a range of powerhouse performances were planned out for the evening . Some of the entertainment industry’s most popular stars were the on-stage; among them were Ali Zafar with Sohai Ali Abro, who performed on Ali Zafar’s popular songs, this lively and colorful performance was based on the theme of Pakistan’s vibrant truck art. Meesha Shafi with Ahmed Ali and Umair Jaswal presented an opening act where they described awards ,fashion and style in specially designed musical cum theatrical performance, RahatFateh Ali Khan entertained audience with his soulful and popular numbers, Saba Qamar with Zahid Ahmed performed on raunchy sizzling medley of madam Noor Jahan .But the highlight of the whole evening was the most entertaining performance of designer HSY with Anoushey Ashraf, Zhalay Sarhadi and Sonia Hussain as his fellow dancers. Dance troupes for all the performances included the internationally acclaimed BNF Dubai as well as local dancers.

The hosts for the evening were Adnan Malik, Ahmed Ali, Ayesha Omar and Aamina Sheikh. Ali Kazmi hosted the red carpet while international Internet sensation Zaid Ali T was been flown in to be digital host.

Special attention were given to the on-stage and red carpet styling, with Fahad Hussayn enlisted as Fashion Stylist. On-stage wardrobe designers included Ehtesham Ahmed, Tasneem, WardhaSaleem, Amir Adnan, RizwanBeyg and HSY. The red carpet wardrobe were provided by Munib Nawaz, Sana Safinazm, Body Focus Museum, Faraz Manan, Shehla Chatoor, Sapphire, Sadia Mirza, Amir Adnan, Republic by Omar Farooq, Ismail Farid, Nomi Ansari, Elan, HumayunAlamgir, Fahad Hussayn and Zainab Chottani.

Hair and makeup for the QMobile HUM Style Awards 2016 was done by makeup and hair stylist Nabila and N-Gents. PR and media for the entire event was managed by Take II PR. The awards ceremony was directed by theatre director Nida Butt along with creative team of Hum network. The fashion stylist for the event was Fahad Hussayn, the back stage management was handled by Production o21. Digital Pr for the entire event was managed by Mind Map communications.
